The Church of Michael the Archangel is the first stone church in Yeisk. According to written records, the construction of the stone cathedral began in 1859, that is, just 11 years after the foundation of Yeisk. The construction of the church was completed in 1865. The temple was consecrated in honor of the namesake of the founder of the city, Prince Vorontsov Mikhail Semenovich.

According to contemporaries, at that time it was the largest temple in the north of the Kuban. The church had five domes shining in the sun, a bell tower built in 1876, 56 windows and a bell weighing 58 pounds. The height of the church to the crosses was 25 m. After a while, around the temple was formed & nbsp; beautiful Mikhailovsky garden. A little later, a church gatehouse and a parish school were built at the cathedral.

In 1938. with the advent of Soviet power, the Church of the Archangel Michael, like other temples of the Kuban, was destroyed to the ground. In 1932 & nbsp; the Bolsheviks threw down bells and crosses, removed the domes and destroyed the bell tower. After that, an observation deck and a dance floor were installed on the roof.

The revival of the Church of Michael the Archangel began only in 1992. A church community was founded, which miraculously managed to return the preserved church gatehouse (it housed a library for children) to the church authority. In 1996, the remains of the gatehouse were transferred to the jurisdiction of the church community, after which its reconstruction and transformation into a church began. Archimandrite Seraphim initiated the reconstruction of the temple.

The solemn consecration of the church took place in 1997. Since that time, services have been regularly held in the church. At the church there is a Sunday school for children, where they study the Law of God and learn the basics of church writing. A fabulous park with a beautiful pond and an extraordinary waterfall appeared near the Church of Michael the Archangel.
