The idea of founding the Cyber Museum appeared in 1995. And the museum held its first large exhibition in 2007 at the Murom Museum of History and Art. The exposition was then attended by 1000 people. The official date of the museum foundation is September 2, 2008.

Today the names BK-0010, Agat, UKNTs, Krista, DVK or Spectrum do not tell the young generation anything. But practically until the mid-1990s, these computers were used in our country, and only from the mid-90s did IBM computers finally replace them. The Cyber Museum gives its visitors the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the computer industry and find out how it all began ...

In March 2012, the Cyber Museum moved to a new building, where today it presents about five hundred exhibits. telling about the history of domestic and world computing technology - from its first uncertain steps to its rapid development in our time.

The museum's collection, its founder, Viktor Kupriyanov, has been collecting for about fifteen years. Here you can see everything: from "Agats", computers, and "Spectrum" to laptops, from punched cards to flash drives, from calculators the size of a large book to miniature modern copies. It also displays cell phones that have already become "rarity" that appeared in the 90s of the last century - huge "Nokia", "Siemens", the first digital cameras.

Most of the exhibits are in working order, so guests museums can remember their youth by playing old games "tanks" or "Tetris" or admire the first version of "Windows" or MS-DOS on a black-and-white screen. Those who are especially advanced may even try to remember how to write the simplest programs in BASIC or Fortran.

The most valuable in the museum are: a collection of computers, a collection of calculators, a collection of reading devices and information storage. The museum collection is constantly growing.

Schoolchildren, students of technical schools and universities can always find here useful specialized literature for themselves, which cannot be found even in libraries.

The exposition is divided into several topics: form factors of motherboards, evolution of processors, evolution of calculators, evolution of video cards, evolution of storage media, input devices, evolution of HDD disks, IBM-compatible and non-compatible computers, laptop form factors, peripheral devices.
