The Chapel de la Paz, or in translation from Spanish - the Chapel of Peace, is considered the hallmark of Acapulco. This modest, low house is located on the top of a mountain that rises above the city, so the chapel offers a magnificent view of the ocean and snow-capped mountains. There are always a lot of tourists here, since the ecumenical chapel of Peace is one of those attractions that are recommended for a must visit.

An ancient mansion built in time immemorial was turned into a temple on the mountain. Until now, it has been preserved in a fairly decent condition. It is said that the idea of converting a residential building into a chapel came to the head of a wealthy local family, Troy, who thus wanted to honor the memory of his deceased heirs. According to the idea of the patron, the temple was intended for believers of all denominations. This tradition is still supported today. Many visitors are confused by the huge Christian cross in front of the temple. This religious symbol here serves as a kind of amulet. They say that he guards everyone who went to sea. There is also a belief that a 40-meter crucifix is the protector of Acapulco from all misfortunes.

The chapel was opened to the general public not so long ago - in 1971. There are no lamps in this temple, so there are no evening and night services here.

In front of the chapel, you can see another strange monument created by the master Claude Favier. It represents two hands folded in a prayer gesture.
