Rovaniemi Lutheran Church was built in 1950 by the architect Bertel Lijekvist. The previous church building was destroyed during the war, in 1944. Now in its place, to the left of the entrance to the new church, lies a stone.

On the territory of the churchyard there is a memorial to the Finnish soldiers who died during the Second World War. Opposite there is a monument to the Finnish fighters for independence who fell in 1918.

The interior of the church is decorated with a fourteen-meter high altar fresco "The Source of Life", painted by Lennart Segerstrohl. The church can simultaneously accommodate up to 1000 parishioners. In 1987. an organ with 4000 pipes, 45 registers, three manuals and a pedal, made at a factory in Denmark, was purchased and consecrated. On the roof of the church there is a spire with a cross, whose total height reaches 54 meters.

The Lutheran Church is open in summer and during the Christmas holidays every day. Other times by appointment.
