Photo and description

A large four-storey building on Kaba Aye Pagoda Street is a large covered market, which houses about 8 dozen jewelry stores. Tourists come here to buy traditional jewelry made of gold and precious and semi-precious stones as a souvenir of their trip to Myanmar. It also sells high quality rough stones, which are very popular with jewelers.

Moving from kiosk to kiosk, sorting through the treasures, as if extracted from the Aladdin's cave, guests reach the third floor, where they discover the Museum of Myanmar Gems. Most of his treasures were recently transported to a storage facility in Nai Pei Twa. Several attractive exhibits remain here, including a small bust of General Aung San carved from a single piece of jade.

The museum was created to preserve the most interesting rough gemstones found in Myanmar. They are distinguished by their amazing shape or impressive size. For example, the world's largest sapphire and ruby are on display here. In one of the halls you can see a large map of Myanmar with deposits of valuable minerals marked on it. The mines where emeralds are mined are highlighted in one color, sapphire mines in another, jadeite mines in a third, etc. By pressing a certain button, you can highlight the deposits of any one semi-precious or precious stone.

Also in the Museum of Precious stones collected highly artistic products from jade, jasper and other minerals.
