The Museum of Fine Arts is located in Alicante, in a palace that once belonged to Count Lumiares. The palace was built in the 18th century, between 1748 and 1808. This building is known as the Gravin Palace.

In 1998, restoration and restoration work began at the Gravin Palace, which continued until 2001. Today, the palace houses the Museum of Fine Arts, presenting visitors with an amazing collection of painting and sculpture. The museum began its existence on December 14, 2001.

The museum displays a large collection of paintings, numbering up to 500 works by various artists, mainly from Alicante and the surrounding areas, from the 16th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Here are the works of such outstanding artists, as Vicente Lopez Portana (portrait of Ferdinand IV), Antonio Hisbert, Joaquin Agrosot, Lorenzo Casanova and Fernando Cabrera, the sculptor Salsillo and others. Each of the works is presented in a corresponding thematic category - portrait, still life, landscape, social motives, religious, intellectual art and others. In addition, the museum has collections of furniture from various periods of time, textiles, household items and interior items.

The museum is equipped with modern multimedia devices, thanks to which viewers can enjoy watching audiovisual presentations.

The museum conducts various educational programs, organizes seminars, and provides support and development of young talents.
