The Church of St. Nicholas is a real architectural masterpiece in the neoclassical style, created in 1799-1801. designed by the Russian architect Yakov Perrin, captivating with its impressive facade with columns at three entrances, a large bell tower and a dome. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by the sculpture of Mary Purple, who managed to prevent the destruction of the church during the Crimean War.
For the indigenous inhabitants, the Church of St. Nicholas is the oldest building in the city, famous for its valuable unusual icons, one of which depicts the face of St. .Nicholas on the background of the seascape.
