Photo & Description

The Dhlodhlo National Archaeological Site is located 75 km southwest of Gweru in close proximity to the Bulawayo-Gweru road. The architecture of the buildings resembles Hami. Dhlodhlo was the capital of the Rosvi state and is mentioned in the Portuguese chronicles of the 17th century. During excavations at the site, archaeologists discovered a number of artifacts of Portuguese origin, among them - two old cannonballs.
