Description, photographs and a map showing the nearest significant objects. The name in English is Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park. Photo & DescriptionGaruda Vishnu Kensana Park is a private park located at the highest point of the Bukit Peninsula. The Bukit Peninsula is located in the southern part of Bali. The Bukit Peninsula is famous for its high rocky shores and beautiful and clean beaches, to which you sometimes have to go down the stairs. In addition, it is a popular destination for surfers. Park Garuda Vishnu Kensana is spread over an area of 240 hectares and is dedicated to Vishnu, the supreme God of Hinduism, and Garuda, the riding bird of the god Vishnu. Translated from Sanskrit, the ancient literary language of India, the name Vishnu means "penetrating into everything, all-embracing." Garuda is a half-vulture, half-human: the head, chest, torso and legs to the knees are human, the beak, wings, tail and hind legs below the knees are eagle. A statue of Vishnu is installed in the park, the height of which is 23 meters, although it was originally assumed that the sculptural composition - Vishnu riding on Garuda - would be 146 meters in size, and Garuda's wingspan would reach 64 meters. However, the idea was not liked by some religious authorities, who believed that such a massive statue could upset the spiritual balance on the island, but there were also those who approved this project, as it will attract even more tourists. Currently, parts of the sculptural composition consisting of the body of Vishnu, Vishnu's hands and the sculpture of Garuda are located in different parts of the park. When completed, the statue will become the tallest statue in Asia. It is assumed that due to its height, the statue will be visible from a distance of 20 kilometers. There are restaurants, hotels, exhibition grounds, souvenir shops, art market. In the evening in the park you can see the Kecak dance. Also on the territory of the park there is an outdoor amphitheater that can accommodate about 7,500 spectators, where world stars give concerts.
