Alexander Nevsky Museum description and photos - Russia - Golden Ring: Pereslavl-Zalessky. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionThe Alexander Nevsky Museum was opened in Pereslavl-Zalessky on December 6, 2012, on the memorial day of this Russian saint. This museum has no analogues. The place for the museum was not chosen by chance, since Pereslavl-Zalessky is the birthplace of the Grand Duke. Here the name of Alexander Nevsky has always been held in high esteem. The museum was created as a tribute to the memory of the great countryman and one of the key figures in Russian history. Alexander Nevsky was born in 1220 in the family of Prince Yaroslav Vsevolodovich and Princess Feodosia Igorevna of Ryazan. He was the grandson of Vsevolod the Big Nest. The first mentions of Alexander Nevsky date back to the time (1228) when Yaroslav Vsevolodovich, who reigned in Novgorod, moved to his ancestral inheritance - Pereyaslavl-Zalessky. He left in the care of the trusted boyars in Novgorod, two young sons, Alexander and Fyodor. Fyodor died in 1233 and Alexander became the eldest son of Yaroslav. In 1236 Alexander was put on the reign of Novgorod, since Yaroslav himself left to reign in Kiev, and in 1239 he married the Polotsk princess Alexandra Bryachislavna. At the beginning of the reign, Alexander had to take up the fortification of Novgorod, since from the east he was threatened by the raids of the Mongol-Tatars. Also, Novgorod and its young ruler faced a more real threat from Lithuania. In 1237, when the scattered Livonian troops of the Teutonic Order and the Swordsmen united their forces against Russia, Alexander built several fortresses on the Shelon River in order to strengthen the western borders. You can continue your journey through the pages of Russian history and learn about the exploits of the famous prince directly in the museum created in his honor. The museum is not just a collection of exhibits, it tells about the great history of the region during the time of Alexander Nevsky, which can be rightfully proud and cherished in order to be passed on to future generations. In the museum, you can find out what Pereslavl-Zalessky looked like in the 12th century, how he looked and how tall the Grand Duke was. The museum displays a copy of the figure of A. Nevsky. Based on these chronicles, its height was about 165 cm. The model of the old Pereslavl accurately conveys the spirit of that era. Many modern citizens do not even know that their houses were built where the princely chambers used to be located. Shown here is the bridge across Trubezh. For the sake of completeness, the museum has already ordered the production of human figurines for the model. Since the museum is very young, unlike its exhibits, many of them are not accurately dated, since work with archaeological finds is too complicated. And many exhibits are still waiting in the wings. The artists have almost completed the painting, the main character of which is the faithful prince Nevsky, leaving for battle. The museum also displays the prince's family tree. The museum has the following expositions: "Model of Pereslavl-Zalessky in the 12th century", Model "Three Warriors": in the center - Russian wine, on the right - the eastern enemies of Russia - Mongol-Tatars, on the left - Western enemies - Teutonic knights, "Icons A . Nevsky "," Awards to them. Alexander Nevsky ".
