Photo and description

Arched bridges in the village of Vorokhta, built in the era when the village was part of Austria-Hungary, represent a very beautiful, majestic, picturesque picture and attract tourists. These are grandiose structures built of stone, with many arches that give them a special solemnity.

The banks of the Prut River are connected by a large stone arched railway viaduct bridge from Austrian times. Under the bridge there is a highway connecting Yaremche and Verkhovyna. The bridge was erected in 1895. Its length is more than one hundred meters. Until now, this bridge is used for its intended purpose. The second ancient Austrian viaduct bridge was also built in 1895 and until 2000 was part of the railway line between Ivano-Frankivsk and Rakhov, now, a new bridge has been built near this now not functioning but remarkable object.

A hundred and thirty-meter viaduct, it is the most famous (though not the only one) among the old Vorokhten stone bridges. The widest span is 65 meters long. This architectural pearl of Vorokhta is known far beyond the boundaries of the village, as this building is one of five similar buildings throughout Western Ukraine and one of the oldest and longest stone viaduct bridges in Europe.

The village is also decorated with two colorful bridges, each of them is about a century old and they act as architectural dominants, decorating the look of the village and making it even more interesting, impressive, and memorable.
