Free Trade Hall was built in Manchester in 1853-56. at the site where the "Peterloo massacre" took place, as reported by a memorial plaque on the building. For a long time it has been used as a public meeting room, for lecturing and as a concert hall. Here in 1904 Winston Churchill spoke in defense of British trade freedom.

In the 60s and 70s, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Genesis and Sex Pistols performed here.

The building was almost completely destroyed in As a result of the bombing in December 1940, only the walls remained, in which in the 50s the concert hall was rebuilt according to a new project.
