Photo and descriptionIn the historical part of the city of Perm there is a beautiful mansion in the style of Russian classicism, built by the architect I. Sviyazev in 1820. Burned twice, the house was rebuilt again until it passed into the possession of the largest entrepreneur in the field of shipping and philanthropist N.V. Meshkov. The new owner entrusted the rebuilding of the building to the young architect A.B. Turchevich, who later donated more than one beautiful structure to Perm. In 1889, a rebuilt mansion with a Corinthian colonnade, arches, a balcony and stone vases on the balustrade looked like a real palace, retaining the basis of an earlier building. The new owner of the house, Nikolai Vasilyevich Meshkov, was a versatile and extraordinary person, among whose many acquaintances and friends there were many famous writers, artists, scientists and artists who visited a luxurious mansion facing the Kama embankment.
