La Thuile is a small resort town in the Italian region of Val d'Aosta, lying at the very foot of Mont Blanc and combining modern architecture and the relaxed atmosphere of a quiet mountain village. In winter, there is always a lot of snow in the vicinity of the town, which attracts skiers here. The pistes are wide and the slopes are quite challenging, mostly designed for confident skiers and skiers. If you wish, you can go to the French resort of La Rosier, with which La Thuile is connected by a system of lifts, or to the neighboring Courmayeur. The total length of pistes in the San Bernardo ski area, which includes the resort, is about 150 km. All slopes lie at an altitude of 1200-1500 meters above sea level and are served by 38 lifts.

There are places for skiing and cross-country skiing - around La Thuile, among the coniferous forests, there are several special trails. Heli-skiing is also well developed - one of the most interesting routes passes through the Rueitor glacier and goes to La Rosier.

In their free time, guests of La Thuile can get acquainted with the history and monuments of this wonderful town. In ancient times, together with the settlements of La Salle, Morges, Pre-Saint-Didier and Courmayeur, it was part of the Vallis Digna road, which connected Aosta with France. Today La Thuile can offer its guests a visit to the Chanoisia Alpine Botanical Garden with an amazing collection of mountain plants, founded in 1897 by a local abbot. Of the religious buildings, it is worth highlighting the parish church, the first mention of which is found back in 1093! Another church is San Lorenzo, standing in the neighboring town of Pre-Saint-Didier, it is notable for its bell tower - one of the oldest in Aosta.

In summer, La Thuile looks like a real green oasis against the backdrop of the majestic Mont Blanc. To services of tourists - hiking to breathtaking waterfalls, walks through flowering meadows and coniferous forests, rafting on deep rivers and much more. One of the interesting trails starts at the foot of the Ryitor Glacier and leads to the Deffi mountain hut, and from there the path goes up to the glacial lakes and the Orgere and Cavanne valleys.

You can get to La Thuile from Milan or Geneva - it will take about 3 hours by car. The nearest train station is in Pre-Saint-Didier, and there is a regular bus from there to the resort.
