Fernardina Island (second name - Narborough) is the youngest of the Galapagos Islands. It is a volcanic island and its last volcanic eruption occurred in 2009. The island received its name in honor of King Ferdinand of Aragon, wife of Isabella of Castile. The island is home to marine iguanas, sea lions, Galapagos penguins and flightless cormorants.
