Slavyanovsk pump room description and photo - Russia - Caucasus: Zheleznovodsk. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionSlavyanovskiy pump room in the town of Zheleznovodsk is located on the eastern side of Mount Zheleznaya in the middle of the resort park. The famous Pushkin Gallery is located within walking distance from the drinking spring. The water from the pump room was named after its discoverer - engineer-hydrogeologist N.N. Slavyanov, who was engaged in the development and research of the mineral water base of the city of Zheleznovodsk, from 1912 to 1955. Studying the geology of Mount Zheleznaya, a hydrogeological engineer came to the conclusion that it is necessary to bring healing water to the surface by deep drilling. Such work has not yet been carried out. As a drilling site, he chose source No. 4, which was developed by Jules Francois. As it turned out, the source of mineral water here was not very large, since when drilling a well to the usual depth for urban springs, there was no water either. But the calculations of NN Slavyanov were fully justified - in the spring of 1914, vertical borehole No. 16 (at that time the only deep drilling in Zheleznovodsk) from a depth of 120.4 m brought hot mineral water with a temperature of 56 ° C from the marls of the Essentuk horizon. In 1916, the well was captured and the building of the pump-room of the Slavyanovskiy source was built. The author of the project was the Pyatigorsk architect A.M. Model. In 1917 the pump-room was put into operation. Since 1918 it has been called "Slavyanovskiy". Today it is a monument to the history of the resort. The main feature of Slavic water is the presence of radon in it in very small quantities. In composition, it is similar to the waters of the Czech spa Karlovy Vary and is intended for drinking cure, as it has healing properties. Decorative open pavilions with stands for water supply are installed in the Slavyanovsk pump room. Unfortunately, pump rooms have recently been closed, water is supplied in a closed pavilion. Moreover, the site itself is very beautiful and unusual. Here you can take a photo for memory, read a book or just relax in the silence of the park.
