Photo and description

The Anatomical Museum was founded in 1924 by Carl Gustav Jung on the basis of the department of the medical faculty of the oldest Swiss university in Basel. The museum presents interesting anatomical exhibits, restored by modern methods, for example, a skeleton dissected by Andreas Fezal back in 1543.

The museum has a large collection of historically valuable, even unique exhibits that have played an important role in the development of anatomical science. Permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions serve as museum visitors, as well as medical students, as guides on a fascinating journey through the human body.

The exhibits in the museum are systematized in such a way that moving from one to another, you can study the work of many systems of the human body. For example, the exhibits of the section "System of blood vessels" are located next to the models of the heart, and the models of the section "The human nervous system" - next to the brain. Hinge models, which can be examined with your own hand, make it possible to closely examine and understand the principles of the human body. Also, since 1850, the museum has displayed a collection of wax models.
