St. Jadwiga Cathedral - a church founded in the second half of the 13th century, located in the Polish city of Zielona Gora. The cathedral is the oldest surviving monument in the city.

The cathedral was consecrated by order of Duke Konrad I Glogow in honor of the Bavarian princess Jadwiga from the Silesian family. The construction was completed in 1294, and later Konrad's son, Henry, was buried in the cathedral.

A fire that happened in 1419 severely damaged the church. Only the Gothic elements on the facade remained intact, the brickwork was partially preserved. Fires have plagued the Cathedral of St. Jadwiga several times. The next one happened in 1582, then in 1627 and in 1651. After the last violent fire, the church was closed for renovation for 25 years. In 1776, the tower collapsed from ancient cracks, and with it fragments of the altar, the nave and the northern vaults were destroyed. After this catastrophe, the cathedral received a new roof and a tower in the classicism style - lower than the original one, which led to the distortion of the former graceful proportions.

Currently, the cathedral is active, in its interior decoration special attention deserves a Baroque organ, an altar and gothic sculptures.
