Photo and description

A small square adjacent to the Main Market and bordered by St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Barbara's Church and bourgeois houses, occupies the territory of the abolished parish cemetery. According to the city legend, the Church of St. Barbara, founded in 1362 by Mykolaj Vezhynek, was made of bricks left after the construction of St. Mary's Cathedral. Intended as a cemetery chapel, in the second half of the 16th century it became the first Jesuit residence in Krakow.

Near the wall of the temple, under an open openwork arcade, there is a large sculptural group `` Gethsemane '', depicting Jesus Christ praying in The Garden of Gethsemane, and the Apostles asleep. Some researchers attribute it to Wit Stosh, others to his students.
