Photo and description

Wooden church " Garmo " was erected in 1150 on the site of an old church, which was erected during the time of the Vikings. The church was originally located in the town of Lom, from where it was later transported to Lillehammer. During the construction of churches of this type in the Middle Ages, a unique technology was used, in which wooden structures were installed vertically.

Over time, "Garmo" lost its ecclesiastical status and in 1822 was bought by Anders Sandwig, who moved it to a new location. The secondary construction of the church took place only in 1920-1921. Today the temple of Garmo is one of the most popular and most visited wooden churches in all of Norway.

Every Wednesday at 19.
