Museum of electric transport description and photos - Ukraine: Kiev. Detailed information about the attraction. Description, photos and a map showing the nearest significant objects. Photo and descriptionMany city dwellers have traveled by tram at least once in their lives. However, few people know that the idea of creating this type of transport was first expressed by the Ukrainian Fyodor Perotsky. Naturally, Kiev could not ignore this fact, especially since this city was the first in the Russian Empire to be run by trams. Therefore, it was here that one of the most unique museums in the city, the Museum of Electric Transport, appeared in the early 90s of the XX century. At first, it was located on the territory of the Kiev electric transport plant, however, due to its closure, the museum was moved to its current habitat. The creator and permanent head of the Electric Transport Museum is Lydia Livinskaya, thanks to whom unique exhibits were collected in it. To date, the collection of the museum includes several thousand items of exhibits, as well as hundreds of models of trolleybuses and trams. The museum can also display about six thousand photo albums and books in different languages dedicated to electric transport. Thanks to the numerous stands of the museum, its visitors can learn the details of the development of electric transport throughout its history. It even becomes clear here why the omnibus, which appeared much earlier and is extremely popular in European countries, could not take root in the territory of Kiev. There are also portraits of people who were the first to drive trams; from their uniforms with bow ties, you can even guess why they were popularly called pans. And how many models of all kinds of trams are there - rail harvesting, irrigation, laboratory ... The map of Ukraine placed in the museum deserves special attention, on which you can see the settlements in which electric transport operates or once operated.
