Photo and description
The Toy Museum is one of the tourist attractions in the Polish city of Karpacz. The museum is located in the building of the former city railway station.
The museum was created by the decision of the city council on February 28, 1995. It contains exhibits from the collection of Henrik Tomaszewski, the creator of the Wroclaw pantomime theater, who collected toys from around the world. Also, part of the collection for the museum was collected by the efforts of the city's residents.
The Puppet Museum is a place where adults return to the world of childhood. The museum, albeit small, is charming with a wonderful collection: bears, fire trucks, doll houses, lego toys, clay cockerels and wooden horses. The collection includes both rare toys of the 18th century and typical dolls of the 20th century. Here you can see toys from Japan, Mexico and Australia.
In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum hosts temporary exhibitions, such as: Christmas toys, a bird exhibition, an angel exhibition and others. The museum is currently hosting an exhibition of porcelain dolls and teddy bears.
In June 2012, a new museum building was opened, where part of the permanent exhibition was transferred.
