Kobrin Military History Museum named after Suvorov was created in 1946 by the scientist and enthusiast Alexei Mikhailovich Martynov. The museum was located in the house of A.V. Suvorov, where the great Russian commander lived in 1797 and 1800. The house was inherited, resold, changed owners, who were unceremonious about the historical heritage of their homeland. After the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, Suvorov's house was completely in a deplorable state.

In the difficult post-war years, the house-museum of A.V. Suvorov, the collection was going. The opening of the first exposition took place on May 1, 1948. It was presented in five halls and had only three sections: `` Our Great Ancestors '', `` A.V. Suvorov '' and " Patriotic War of 1812 " quot;.

In 1978, the museum underwent a thorough reconstruction and restoration. The layout of the house has been restored as it was in the 18th century. The museum was reopened on November 15, 1980. Its exposition was devoted only to the life and work of A.V. Suvorov.

In 1990, an additional building was built, which housed the Military History Museum. All the accumulated rich material on the history of military affairs in Belarus from the 9th to the 20th centuries was transferred to new museum depositories and exhibition halls.

Now on the territory of the Kobrin Military History Museum named after Suvorov, there are two museums of different themes: the house-museum of A.V. Suvorov and the military history museum named after Suvorov.

The museum is actively involved in educational activities and military-patriotic education of young people. Historical reconstructions, lectures, competitions are organized there. The museum is included in the international action Museum Night, aimed at popularizing museums and attracting young people to them.
