Photo and description

The Church of St. Paraskeva Pyatnitsa Tarnovskaya is an Orthodox church in the town of Balchik. The construction of the church began at the initiative of the Romanian authorities in 1935 and lasted for two years. The construction was supervised by the master Nikolay Panchev from the city of Dobrich. After the liberation of Dobrudzha in 1940, the work was temporarily stopped. In 1946, priest Vasily Demirov spoke in favor of the continuation of the construction, and with the support of believers, the temple was soon completed with funds donated by local residents.

The external and internal appearance of the Church of St. Paraskeva of Tarnovskaya is the merit of the masters Dimitar Dyulgerov and Angel Neonov. The building is constructed of gray bricks and the outside is almost devoid of any decoration. By its architectural type, it belongs to the cross-domed temples. The entrance to the church is preceded by a large vestibule, above the doors on the front of the facade there is an image of the patron saint of the temple - Paraskeva Pyatnitsa.

The roof of the building is covered with red tiles, the domes covering the three-sided apse and the tower are painted in the same color. The bright cover, contrasting with the gray walls of the church, makes the building visible from afar.
