The Canadian Museum of Civilization, also known as the Canadian Museum of History, is the National Museum of Canada in Gatineau, Quebec.

The history of the museum dates back to 1856 from a small exhibition hall in Montreal, opened to show the general public a unique collection of various minerals, biological specimens, historical and ethnological artifacts and other artifacts that the Geological Survey of Canada managed to collect. In 1881, the exhibition moved to Ottawa, and in 1910 was located in the heart of the Canadian capital - a building known as the Victoria Memorial, and was named the National Museum of Canada. In 1968 the museum was split into the Museum of Nature and the Museum of Man. In 1982, it was decided to construct a new separate building for the Museum of Man in Halle, the oldest district of the city of Gatineau (until 2002, Hull was an independent administrative unit), and in 1986 the museum was renamed the Canadian Museum of Civilization. In 1989, the museum finally moved into its own new building. The institution received the name "Canadian Museum of History" in 2013.

The permanent exhibition of the museum is presented in three main galleries - "Grand Hall", "Hall of Indigenous Peoples" and "Canada Hall" and acquaints its guests in detail with history of the development of culture, life and life of the indigenous peoples of Canada, starting from prehistoric times, as well as the period of the country's history from the time of European colonization to the present. Exhibition "Face to Face" will tell about famous Canadian artists, writers, entrepreneurs, scientists, military and political figures. The collection of the museum has more than 1 million items and covers a huge period of time - 20,000 years.
