The National Museum of Archeology, Anthropology and History of Peru is the oldest public museum in the country. The building of the museum is located in the Pueblo Libre district in the city of Lima, in the 18th century mansion where Simon Bolivar and Generalissimo Don Jose de San Martin lived.

The collection of the museum also contains paintings from the colonial period, mainly the painting schools of Cusco, and priceless samples of textiles from the Paracas culture.
