Villa Perego di Cremnago is a grandiose architectural complex designed for a variety of events. The complex consists of a palace built by the architect Piermarini, stables designed by Simon Cantoni, a private chapel painted with 16th century frescoes, an 18th century lemon greenhouse and three extensive gardens. In 1906, Villa Perego di Cremnago was declared a national monument, and since then is considered one of the most exquisite houses in Italy.

The luxurious main building of the villa was once the center of the vast land ownership of the Perego family, later divided among the numerous heirs of the founder of the family Giovanni Perego, a well-known humanist, art connoisseur and abbot of the Church of San Nadzaro in Milan. It was Giovanni Perego who commissioned the architect Piermarini to build the villa. I must say that Piermarini was also involved in the construction of the famous Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Villa Reale in Monza and many other important buildings. After the death of the architect, his work was continued by Simon Cantoni, who was the architect of the Palazzo Serbelloni in Milan, Villa Olmo in Como and Villa Scotti in Oreno.
