Ras Mohammed – it is a real gem of the country and the Sinai Peninsula. It covers an area of 480 square kilometers. More than half of this territory is occupied by the sea.

The pride of the reserve – these are coral reefs, most of which are quite old. Another feature of the reserve – numerous faults that formed after the earthquake. The depth of some of them reaches 14 meters.

Thanks to the same earthquakes, underwater caves were formed, which are very popular among divers.

Another interesting place in the reserve is – this is the Magic Bay. Its water is twice as salty than ordinary sea water. In composition, it is as close as possible to the water in the Dead Sea.

The flora of the reserve is represented by palm trees, acacias, mangrove forests and corals, of which 220 species 125 – soft corals. In the sea live 1000 species of fish, 40 species of sea stars, 25 – sea urchins, about a hundred species of molluscs and about 150 species of crustaceans. Sea turtles also live here.

You can get to the reserve from Sharm el-Sheikh by yacht or bus.
