You can get to Chanthaburi from Bangkok either by your own in a rented car or by bus. Intercity bus services to Chanthaburi regularly depart from the Ekamai terminal, as well as from the Mo Chit II bus station. The duration of the trip is about 4 hours. In Chanthaburi, the Buddhist temple-museum Wat Khausukim deserves attention. It is located on Mount Sukim. The exposition of the temple-museum presents a variety of exhibits that give a visual representation of the history and traditions of Buddhism. The Gem Quarter enjoys high tourist traffic as gems can be purchased here at fairly low prices. Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Chanthaburi was built by French architects in the 19th century and is considered the largest Catholic temple in Thailand.
