The name of the Kazan Nury mosque in Tatar means `` ray of light ''. The mosque is located in a residential area of Kazan, among low-expressive multi-storey buildings.

The project of the mosque was carried out by the honored architect of Tatarstan R.V. Bilyalov, in collaboration with the architect M.M. Sultanov. The project was developed in 1999.

The mosque was built of wood. The building is one-story, with a basement and an attic. The mosque has two halls and a minaret above the entrance. Two halls of the mosque and the vestibule have an enfilade connection. The entrance to the mosque is located on the north side of the building. Above the porch there is a pentahedral roof supported by four richly carved columns. The projection on the southern facade, formed by a mihrab, is covered with a three-pitched roof, which is crowned by a tent with a crescent moon. There is a three-flight staircase on the right side of the lobby. On the left side is a service building.

The building has a brick basement. A staircase leads from the lobby. It can also be reached by an external staircase located on the western facade. The main and basement floors have the same layout.

The entrance to the minaret is located in the hall of the attic floor. The azanchi illuminated lantern and the circular balcony of the minaret can be accessed via a spiral staircase going up inside the minaret's trunk. The balcony of the minaret has a carved fence.

The architectural style of the mosque is defined as traditional. The attic floor is decorated in folklore style.
