Geography and climate

Himos is a popular ski resort in Central Finland. It is located 9 km from the city of Jamsa, 220 km from Helsinki, 125 km from Lahti. The nearest airport is located 70 km from Himos, in the city of Jyvaskyla.

There are two ways to get to Himos:

Flight from Helsinki to Jyvaskyla ( it will take 30 minutes), then transfer to the transfer Jyvaskyla - Himos (travel time 50 minutes).
By train from Helsinki to Jamsa (journey duration 3 hours 10 minutes) with transfer to transfer to Himos (15 minutes).

The ski season in Himos lasts from November to May, thanks to an artificial snow cover system. Winter is warm and snowy.
