Sanctuary of Athena in Greece, Delphi resort
Rating: 8,5/10 (1903 votes)  Not far from the Temple of Apollo the Pythian is the sanctuary of the goddess Athena. The ruins of this ancient temple are extremely picturesque. The Sanctuary of Athena was originally created in the 7th century BC. Several centuries later, the temple was reconstructed. An unusual structure appeared in it – foul. This historical monument was circular. In addition, the central part of the temple housed a marble Doric treasury. Numerous tall columns adorned the goddess's sanctuary. In 1938, three columns were rebuilt based on the fragments that have survived to this day. And in the north-western part of the temple, you can now see the ruins of a gymnasium, founded in the 5th century BC.
