The fortress walls have survived to this day, behind which you can see the ruins of the imperial palace. Initially, the Trabzon fortress consisted of three parts: lower, middle and inner. In the inner part there was a Basilica of Panagia Chrysokephalos (The Golden-Domed Mother of God), later reformed into the Fatiha Mosque. Climbing up to the fortress, you can find that from here you can see an amazingly picturesque view of the city of Trabzon.
