Here is the sanctuary of Artemis, founded, according to legend, by Orestes and Iphigenia, the children of Agamemnon. Bravrona reached its heyday in the 6th century BC, when the worship of the goddess Artemis was elevated to the rank of state religion.

The main place in the sanctuary was occupied by the temple of Artemis of the 5th century BC, of which only foundation. Next to the temple is the 13th century Byzantine chapel of St. George. On the stone terrace there is a shallow grotto where Iphigenia's tomb was. At the base of the terrace is a courtyard surrounded on three sides by Doric columns. A stone bridge of the 5th century BC has also survived.
