It is located in the central part of the city, in the Granite House, designed by Armas Rankk in 1912. The museum has changed its name three times during its existence. The modern name was received only in 1981. The museum's permanent exhibition presents works by Finnish artists from the 1870s to the 1980s. most of these canvases were made by post-impressionists.
