Chisinau Botanical Garden is one of the main attractions of the city of Chisinau, a favorite vacation spot for residents and guests of the city. The botanical garden was founded in 1950 on the basis of the USSR Academy of Sciences and was located on the outskirts of the city (occupying an area of 76 hectares). In 1964, it was decided to plan and build a new garden in the Botanica area.

The modern botanical garden covers an area of 104 hectares, and is divided into several sectors - an arboretum, where trees and shrubs are represented - representatives of the typical flora of Moldova, floriculture sector, tropical and subtropical plants, etc. Most of the area is allocated for the experimental site and the hybridization sector.

After the last reconstruction of the park, a beautiful rock garden, a rose garden, shaped garden, iridarium, pionarium and other sections. Numerous galleries, gardens, swimming pools will give visitors comfort and coolness. In the garden there are also various types of birds - wild ducks, blackbirds, pigeons, etc.

Visitors to the park can see the relief of the whole Moldova in miniature, as its general landscape is an alternation of lowlands and hills, which represent 24 type of soil. Four artificial lakes have been created on the territory of the park, the water from which is used for watering plants.

Today, in the Chisinau Botanical Garden, there are about 10 thousand varieties of vegetation, one of the most solid herbaria has been created - the Republican Herbarium, which has 200 thousand sheets, constant work is underway to create valuable populations of walnut and grape hybrids ...

The Botanical Garden is especially beautiful during the flowering of pink magnolia (late April - early May) and during the Japanese cherry blossom season. The number of visitors at this time increases several times.
