Osborne House in the UK, Isle of Wight resort
Rating: 8,9/10 (2106 votes)  Osborne House is a palace in the town of East Coes in the north of the Isle of Wight, built in Italian style for Queen Victoria and her consort as a summer seaside residence in 1845-1851. since 1921, the palace has housed a public museum.
The palace was built by Thomas Cubitt, who won the contract. In addition, in parallel with this, he remodeled Buckingham Palace. A chalet was built next to the palace, transported by order of the queen from Switzerland. The magnificent Osborne House brought up the grandchildren of Queen Victoria, including the last Russian empress Alexandra Feodorovna.
In 1901, Queen Victoria passed away at Osborne House, her private apartment was turned into a museum. Edward VII, heir to the queen, opened a naval school on the grounds of the palace, where his grandsons George VI, Edward VIII and George, Duke of Kent studied.
