Russian cemetery Kokad – an Orthodox Russian cemetery in the west of Nice, on the Cocade hill, opened in 1867. Previously, the cemetery was called Nikolaevsky. Initially, the land on the Kokad hill was bought by Russia for the installation of artillery pieces, and later it was given as a cemetery for Russian subjects.

After the events of 1917, many forced Russian emigrants moved to France. More than three thousand deceased in France are buried in this cemetery. Among them are prominent names: poet and critic G. Adamovich, poet S.S. Bekhteev, Princess Yekaterina Dolgorukova, Princess Elizabeth Kochubei, writer V. Zhemchuzhnikov, General Nikolai Yudenich and others.
