Church of Il Redentore in Italy, Venice resort

The temple was founded in May 1577 in gratitude to the Savior for the miraculous deliverance of the city from the Black Death.;. The construction of the building was completed in 1592, in the same year the church was consecrated. Later, the cathedral was given to the Capuchin order. Today, the church displays masterpieces of such famous painters as Paolo Veronese, Tintoretto, Giacomo Palma, Carlo Saraceni, Jacopo Bassano, Alvise Vivarini, Francesco Bissolo , Leandro Bassano, Rocco Marconi. The Il Redentore Basilica along with other sights of Venice has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
