The exact same tower was located on the other side of the river: during an alarm, a chain was stretched between them, and enemy ships could not sail along the river. The tower was named Golden because of American treasures, which it was unloaded. During its entire existence, the tower was a prison, a powder warehouse, it even housed the port administration. Now it is a maritime museum, where you can see nautical charts and antique instruments.
