Johann Strauss's son lived in this house for 7 years and in 1867 composed the famous Blue Danube waltz, which is considered the unofficial anthem of Austria. Today, this elegant building houses the museum of the great composer. It contains a large number of rarities that belonged to Strauss: antique furniture, musical instruments, things that tell about the musician's personal life, paintings that illustrate the work of the composer as a conductor and musician. Also on display in the museum exhibits dedicated to the entire Strauss family: father Johann and brothers Eduard and Joseph.
