It is believed that some of the trees in the Garden of Gethsemane have survived to this day from biblical times. The garden is traditionally revered by believers as a place where Jesus Christ indulged in prayers on the eve of tragic events. In 1848 the Garden of Gethsemane was surrounded by a stone fence.
