You can reach the plateau where the sitting Buddha is located on foot in an hour, by bus in 40 minutes or by cable car – in 25 minutes. The length of the cable car route is 6 kilometers. When traveling, a very picturesque view opens up, so in good weather it is best to choose the cable car.

You need to walk up to the Buddha statue on your own, climbing 260 steps. This bronze statue is the tallest seated Buddha in the world.

At the very feet of the statue, between the picturesque hills, is the Po Lin Monastery. It is located on the Nong Ping plateau, at an altitude of 520 meters.

You can visit the Sitting Buddha absolutely free of charge. The monastery can only be reached from 10 am to 5 pm. The monastery also has interesting Buddha statues, though lighter and smaller than the Sitting Buddha.
