Ring around the Big Mountain in Vietnam, Vung Tau Resort
Rating: 9,0/10 (1533 votes)  Around the Big Mountain, also known as Nui Lon, is a 10-kilometer ring that passes through coastal villas, the homes of the poor living in ancient French fortifications, Silk Beach, and a series of quarries where the hillside workers use a hammer to turn huge boulders blown up by dynamite into gravel. Explosions often close the road for several hours. At the northern end of the Big Mountain is the fishing village of Ben Da, famous for its large church. From the village the road goes up to the top of the hill where the old radar station is located.
