Idea cave in Greece, Crete resort
Rating: 8,4/10 (8755 votes)  This cave is located 48 kilometers from Heraklion. According to legend, here Rhea hid his son Zeus from Kronos. A sanctuary existed in the cave for a very long time. Statues, religious objects, ceramics and copper shields were found here. The finds are exhibited in Heraklion in the archaeological museum. In honor of Zeus, the Mysteries of the Idea Rings were held in the cave. They were attended by adherents of the cult, it is believed that among them was even Pythagoras.
