This museum is located in a building that once belonged to the Jesuit College Santos Joanes. In its three sections, exhibitions are presented that are dedicated to the history of the Basques.

Archaeological section. This section, which is located on the basement floor, presents artifacts found in prehistoric burials in the Basque area. Here you can see tombs, sanctuaries, fragments of sculptures and memorial stones. In the very center of the hall stands the idol of Mikeldi, which probably dates back to the Iron Age.

Ethnographic section. This section presents items that characterize crafts, folk art, agriculture and fisheries of the Basque country.

History section. Here are examples of weapons production and woodworking that focus on the history of the Consulate of Bilbao. From 1511 to 1829, this consulate was responsible for the regulation of trade and shipping in Bilbao.
