The Armenian Church of St. Sarkis was erected on the site where there was a small church built in the 17th century, which burned down during a fire in 1843. A new temple in its place was built by the master Apraam already in 1844.

The building was made in the shape of a cross with a multifaceted bell tower dome. The bell tower and premises for the sale of candles and church supplies were completed in 1910. The walls of the temple were painted in an excellent Byzantine style.

The altar in the church is open and does not have an iconostasis, as in churches. To the right of the altar is the sacristy, where the vestments of the priests are kept, and to the left is the baptismal.
