The upper part of the amphitheater simultaneously accommodated up to 6 thousand people, at that time quite large-scale events were held here. In 1972, a massive landslide occurred in Plovdiv, as a result of which this amazing structure was discovered. After the restoration work, the amphitheater is still open to the public – in the summertime, music, ballet and opera performances are held here.
