Roman Amphitheater in Bulgaria, Plovdiv resort
Rating: 8,2/10 (2342 votes)  The Roman Amphitheater of the city of Plovdiv was built in the 2nd century by order of Emperor Troyan. The upper part of the amphitheater simultaneously accommodated up to 6 thousand people, at that time quite large-scale events were held here. In 1972, a massive landslide occurred in Plovdiv, as a result of which this amazing structure was discovered. After the restoration work, the amphitheater is still open to the public – in the summertime, music, ballet and opera performances are held here.
