Odessa Archaeological Museum, one of the oldest in the country, was founded in 1825. Now the museum contains over 160 thousand exhibits, which are the largest collection of sources on the ancient history of the Northern Black Sea region. In addition, there are collections of monuments from Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece and Rome, coins and medals.

The best examples of antique sculpture are displayed in the lobby of a building specially built for the museum in 1883.
