The Crab Gorge, located in the northeastern part of the resort village of Lazarevskoye, is a recreational site for the Sochi National Park. The name of the gorge comes from the name of its inhabitants - the Iberian potamon freshwater crabs. Crabs of this species can live only in the purest water of the stream that runs down the gorge.

A fascinating walk in the Crab Gorge will open to every visitor all the diversity of the nature of the Caucasian Black Sea coast. In a few hours of travel under the forest canopy you can see canyons, beautiful waterfalls, "weeping" rocks, various unusual drip formations, grottoes, interestingly folded layers of limestone rocks that formed about 70 million years ago, as well as landscape glades, observation platforms and wooden bridges.

Getting to Crab Gorge is not difficult at all. You should go almost to the end of Kalarasha Street until the sign that leads to a forest path. The trail is very well marked, so it will be simply impossible to get off it.

In the Crab Gorge there are deep water bowls with very beautiful names - `` Adam's Font '' and the Mermaid Font. You can swim in these bowls. Also here you can see the amazing beauty of the Karst Canyon with its amazing outgrowths and drips.

Today crabs in the gorge are very rare, but still found. They are gradually being replaced by a large number of tourists, because where there are tourists, noise is always inevitable, and nature does not like being disturbed. But if you approach the gorge silently, then there is a high probability that that the owner of the gorge - a freshwater crab will come out of the crystal clear water and can be seen. Crabs are most commonly found in the shallow water Crab Canyon.

The Crab Gorge in Lazarevskoye is a wonderful place to relax, both with family and friends. The noise of a mountain river, a light whisper of leaves and birdsong are very soothing, giving a lot of positive emotions.
